Registration
Sacred Heart is linked with the St.
James Parish in Gouverneur.
Our parishes welcome new members. Your presence is a
blessing to us. We ask you to make yourself known to us
by contacting the rectory at catholic@twcny.rr.com
or by calling 315-287-0114. If
you move, please contact the office so we can keep our
records up to date.
Altar and
Rosary Society
The Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society meets at 7:00
PM on the second Tuesday of each month (September - June)
in the Sacred Heart Rectory Community Room. New members are always
welcome to attend.
Marriage
 Persons
wishing to be married should be registered and active members of the
parish. Six months should be allowed for adequate preparation
for a wedding. Church dates will be reserved following a meeting
with the pastor.
Visiting the
Sick
Please let the rectory know who is ill, at home or in the
hospital, so that we can visit and bring them the
Sacraments. The parishes' Eucharistic Ministers will
bring them Communion on a weekly basis.
Baptism
Parents and future parents are to contact the rectory to
make arrangements for the celebration of their child's
Baptism.
 Handicapped
Access
Sacred
Heart is handicapped accessible.
 Knights of Columbus
There are Knights of Columbus groups in both Gouverneur and
Canton. The Gouverneur group meets at at 7 PM in the basement of
St. James Church on the first Tuesday of each month, except July and
August. Call the St. James office at (315)287-0114 for more
information. The Canton group meets at 7:30 PM on the first and third
Sunday of the month at 30 Miner Street, Canton, NY.
